Start with who I am
My full name is Haoyuan Zhang, and feel free to call me Steve. 张皓原 is my name in Chinese characters.
My hometown is a beautiful island named Zhoushan Islands, in the East China Sea near Shanghai. I spent all my childhood and school life there up to 18 years old.
After my undergrad in Electrical Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology (with an exchange semester in CS / HCI at PolyU, Hong Kong), I earned my Master’s in Robotics at the University of Pennsylvania, supervised by Dr. Jianbo Shi at the GRASP Lab.

What I am doing now
Currently, my main research and interests are about:
- traditional and modern computer vision
- a lover of 3D Vision — including Structure from Motion, Visual SLAM and AR algorithms
